Fine German violin by Leopold Widhalm, Nürnberg ca 1770

For sale is this beautiful old German violin by Leopold Widhalm. The instrument was built in Nuremberg around 1770. The violin bears the original label and the maker's stamp. Leopold Widhalm is one of the most famous and perhaps the best German violin makers in history. His instruments are known and loved all over the world because of the beautiful tone and the beautiful construction of the instruments. This typical instrument of this great Nuremberg master, based on a Jacobus Stainer model, was recently extensively restored in our specialist workshop and is now ready to play again. During the restoration, value was placed on preserving as much of the original substance as possible, which is why we decided to keep the original neck. The violin has some repairs on the top, which is why the instrument is being sold at a very interesting price. The sound is typical of Widhalm's instruments, wonderfully noble, finely clear and warm. LOB 35,5 cm
