French violin by Paul Serdet, Lyon 1924

For sale is this nice French violin by Paul Serdet, made in 1924. Very good sounding instrument it has a very powerful and flattering tone!

SERDET, Paul Born 1858 Mirecourt, died 1934 Paris France. Apprenticed to Gaillard and J. Derazay. Worked for H. C. Silvestre in Lyons 1877-1894. Established independently in Paris from 1894 at 28 rue de Faubourg Poissonière. Gold medals awarded 1889 and 1900. Very fine work on Stradivari and Guarneri models. Good transparent varnish in appropriate colours.
