For sale is a very nice Guarneri model by Janos Michlberger built in Budapest in 1926 with the opus number 35. The instrument impresses with a very good state of preservation and a very nice powerful tone. The violin is made from very nice birdseye maple which was used for the back and sides. The scroll is made of the same material. Janos MICHELBERGER was born 1886 in Erd and died 1935 Budapest Hungary. He was pupil of Andreas Bergmann. Worked for Mihaly Reményi, Karl Otto Zimmer, and Robert Laumann. Established independently in Budapest from 1920. Fine copies of Cremonese work. Also copied Nemessanyi. He used hard spirit varnish in dark orange or red colours. He was one of the best Hungarian makers of the period. Branded internally and with orginal label |
