Fine German violin by Johann Gottfried Hamm, Markneukirchen ca. 1780

One of the finest 18th century Markneukirchen violins i´ve had and the nicest example by this maker i´ve seen by far. A very nice violin by Johann Gottfried Hamm, made in the second half of the 18th century. The violin is in excellent condition and sounds beautiful! Comes from a pro musician, very talented young player!
Hamm was one of the first violins i´ve bought when I started dealing and I am a big fan of his instruments.

Johann Gottfried Hamm is undoubtedly one of the most talented violin makers in Markneukirchen of his time. This violin is a particularly beautiful example with a honey-brown varnish of wonderful quality.
